The Foundation launched its ‘Extra Time Club’ for men and women over the age of 50 back in 2011. Funded through the Football Foundation and Sports Relief grant, the session offered participants the opportunity to improve their health, increase their activity levels and boost wellbeing in a fun enjoyable atmosphere.
Now for 2016, The Foundation are delighted to be able to reshape our bespoke ‘Extra-Time’ Club, which will be offering organised activity to over 55s in our local area, thanks to funding from Sport England.
The Foundation would like to reverse the trend where exercise drop off rate increases with age. Rebranded as ‘Silver Eagles’, the new look programme aims to engage over 55s in (free) structured weekly activity to improve physical well-being as well as new activities to stimulate the mind and a forum to socialise, interact and share interests.
Look out for details in the spring of 2016!
