The Premier League Girls Football Programme was founded to drive up female football participation using the League’s successful satellite club model developed in the Premier League 4 Sport programme.
The three-way partnership between the Premier League, The FA and Sport England aims to use the power of the club badge and the high-quality club coaching experience to drive participation. Already since the launch at the end of October 2013, more than 9,000 young females were engaged, with two thirds of those being over 14.
Palace for Life Foundation runs 12 different FREE PL Girls Football sessions. These are based in schools, colleges, universities and other community venues with the aim of bringing young females together to enjoy playing the game in a pressure-free environment away from school-based delivery.
All of these sessions are delivered by professional Palace Foundation coaches, who are minimum FA Level 2 accredited. These sessions are open to any female who are between 14 & 25 years old. Sessions range from 1 hour to 2 hours long and they involve all aspects of football from fun fitness-based activities to game-related play.
